  • Manufactured Housing Opportunity and Revitalization (MORE) Program

  • The Manufactured Housing Opportunity & Revitalization (MORE) Program helps low- income homeowners of manufactured and mobile homes with repairs. This program gives one-time grants to homeowners who cannot afford to fix problems that affect health and safety. To qualify, the home must be owned by the person living in it and must be in Nevada County.

    Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received. However, priority is given first to homeowners with a notice of violation requiring repairs, second to those with a contractor's report listing needed health and safety fixes, and third to homeowner who have identified problems themselves. Health and safety hazards are defined in Title 25, Section 1606 and may include, but are not limited to, plumbing, roofing, electrical, heating, accessibility upgrades, and energy efficiency improvements.

  • Homeowner Information

  • Please complete the information below for the homeowner. This person must be the owner and resident of the mobile home or manufactured home. Proof of residency and ownership are required.

    Please provide the requested documents to help us determine if you qualify. A list of documents can be found on page 4 of this application. This will allow us to process your application quickly. Funding is limited and submitting an application does not guarantee assistance. If funds run out, any remaining application will be placed on a waiting list.

  • Property Information

  • To be eligible for the program, the homeowner must reside in the home listed on the application and the home must be in need of repairs identified as health and safety hazards defined in Title 25, Section 1606

  • Household and Income Information

  • Income eligibility is based on size and annual household income. Please list the homeowner first and then all other people living in the home. The program is available for households earning at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI The current limits for Nevada County are:

    Each member of the household over 18 will need to provide valid identification and income verification. A list of documentation needed is on page 4 of this application. All individuals living in the home must be on the application.

I/WE further understand that any omission, misrepresentation, misstatements, deletions, falsifications, or other actions that result in MY/OUR not conforming to the requirements of the program will subject MY/OUR application to immediate cancellation and cause any fund given to me to be immediately due and payable and may cause further legal action if warranted. I/WE further certify that our application for this assistance does not result in a conflict of interest as described in the program guidelines.

    I/WE further certify that the information provided on this form is subject to verification by HUD at any time, and Title 18, Section 1001 of the U.S. Code states and that knowingly and willingly making a false or fraudulent statement to a department of the United States Federal Government is a felony and grounds for termination of assistance.

    I/WE certify that this information is complete and accurate and have provided the following supporting documentation as required to determine MY/OUR eligibility for the program:

    1. Copy of valid identification for all family members over the age of 18

    2. Proof of Residency: copy of a utility bill or space lease or rent statement with the homeowner/applicant's

    3. Proof of Ownership: copy of the Grant Deed or Registration or Certificate of Title for the home listed on the application

    4. Copy of income documentation for all family members over the age of 18.

    1. If employed: last 3 months of paystubs, a recent W2, and 3 months of bank statements
    2. If self-employed: copies of current and last year's taxes, a quarterly profit/loss statement, and 3 months of bank statements
    3. Unemployed: copies of unemployment checks
    4. Completed Income Self-Certification Form

    5. Copy of Notice of Violation from the enforcement agency

    6. Copies of any inspection reports completed by a licensed contractor, engineer, of architect

    7. Additional documents may be requested as needed and may include, but are not limited to:

    1. Copies of child support income, public assistance benefits, retirement and pension benefits

  • Process

  • If your application is approved, you will be notified through the email or phone number listed on the application. The County will then work with you to schedule inspections and develop a description of repairs to be completed. The County will work with contractors to get bids for the repairs and will pay contractors directly for repairs that are completed.
