SB1383 Commercial Organic Waste Waiver Application
Your business may be eligible for a waiver of collection requirements if they meet certain qualifications.
- De Minimis Waivers if your business generates little to no organic waste or if you reduce organics waste through composting or other alternate methods of compliance.
- Space Waiver if your premises lack adequate space for the additional cart requirements after considering all feasible solutions.
- Alternate Compliance with De Minimis Waiver: If your business reducts the amount of organic waste through alternate methods such as composting, donating to local food recovery organizations or to local farms.
Eligiblity does not exempt your facility from complying with organic waste recycling per SB1383. Food and other organic waste should not be disposed of in the regular waste bin.
